Corrosion Resistance: One of the primary advantages of IRSM 41-97 steel plate is improved corrosion resistance, especially in aggressive environments like coastal areas or industrial areas where humidity and pollution levels are tremendously high. This is chiefly credited to the alloying elements in the composition of the steel.
Weathering Properties: The property of the steel plate IRSM 41-97 is such that when it is exposed to atmospheric conditions, rain, moisture, and sunlight, a protective layer of rust or patina develops on the surface. This inherent rust acts as a barrier, eliminating further corrosion and consequently the need for painting or application of protective coatings, saving a great deal of maintenance costs.
High Tensile Strength: This grade of steel has quite a good tensile strength, suitable for most structural applications where high strength and toughness are required. This steel displays resistance to extremely heavy loads and stresses that can be found in structures.
Weldability: The manufactured steel plate using IRSM 41-97 has favourable characteristics for welding, which will ease the work of fabrication and erection. It can easily be welded by normal welding methods without any significant loss of mechanical properties and hence results in proper joining of the structural components during erection.
